Tulip Devilled Eggs
These Devilled Egg Tulips are as beautiful as they are delicious—perfect for spring gatherings, brunches, or a charming Easter centerpiece.
- Prep time: 15 to 20 min
- Makes: A bouquet of 6 tulip-inspired devilled eggs
Ingredients
- 1 pouch
- EGGS2go! Omega 3 Hard Boiled Eggs (6-pack)
- 1/4 cup
- mayonnaise
- 1 tsp
- mustard
- salt, to taste
- 4 to 5
- stems of green onion (green parts only, for the “stems”)
Directions
Using a small, sharp knife, carefully cut a cross (X shape) into the top of each peeled hard-boiled egg—cutting about halfway down. Gently open the flaps to resemble flower petals.
Gently open the flaps with your fingers and use a small spoon or the tip of a sharp knife to remove the yolk from each egg. Place all the yolks into a mixing bowl. Set aside the hollowed egg whites, handling them with extra care— they’re delicate and can tear easily.
Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Transfer the yolk mixture to a piping bag (or use a small spoon) and carefully fill the center of each egg. Allow a bit of the filling to peek out through the petals for a pretty, blooming effect.
Arrange the green onion stems on a large plate or board to create the look of flower stems.
Place the filled eggs on top, angled slightly upward, to resemble tulip blossoms.
Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
